Studies across the globe have revealed that college students are subject to a lot of pressures. We took a close look at college homework to find interesting results. There isn't a consensus on how much homework is excessive. Students in college complain often about having too many homework, and it's a valid complaint.
The United States is an example of this. It is clear that homework loads are increasing. According to one study, junior college students are doing twice the amount of homework as their peers in the early 1980s. It remains to be determined if this is due to the increased demands college administrators make for higher performance.
How can colleges and other stakeholders determine if students are doing enough homework? Are the homework goals clearly communicated? Unfortunately, it doesn't matter who asks the question about whether college homework helps students become better learners.
